South Toms River is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, situated on the south bank of the Toms River opposite the community of Toms River. Incorporated in 1927 from portions of Berkeley Township and named for Captain William Tom, the community of approximately 3,716 is served by the Toms River Regional Schools district for public education.
