Spanish Fort is a Baldwin County city on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, above the Blakeley River where it enters the bay. It functions as a suburb of Mobile and part of the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley metro, but its setting gives it a different feel from inland suburbs. The area traces back to bluffs, plantations, and old river approaches, while modern Spanish Fort has city services, Baldwin County schools, and quick access to both Mobile and the Eastern Shore.
