About Sperry

Sperry is a Tulsa County town about ten miles north of downtown Tulsa and five miles south of Skiatook, along State Highway 11 near the Tulsa-Osage County line. It incorporated in early 1920, when its first official census counted 487 people; the 2020 census counted 1,115. Sperry is closely tied to the Tulsa area, with roughly 85 percent of employed residents commuting to Tulsa or nearby towns for work, school, and shopping. It also has an active retirement community.

The Osage Prairie Trail gives the town one of its strongest local connections, running five miles south to Tulsa and north to Skiatook. Sperry Public Schools keeps its elementary, middle, and high school buildings together on a campus at the western edge of town, giving the community a shared center for school life. The combination of a short drive to Tulsa, a trail running in both directions, and a full K-12 district makes Sperry feel like a small town with a broad daily orbit.
