Spring Hope, NC

Spring Hope is a Nash County town with a name that feels more optimistic than most town signs. Its historic district grew around the old Wilmington & Weldon railroad depot and includes 159 contributing buildings, mostly from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Hassell Brantley House and Valentine-Wilder House add two more named landmarks to the local roll call. Spring Hope is eastern North Carolina in a railroad-town shape, with enough older architecture to make a walk through town feel like a trip through several eras.
