St. Cloud, WI

St. Cloud is a village in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, along the Sheboygan River in the Holyland region. The 2020 census counted 489 residents. The village lies in the Town of Marshfield, with farm roads connecting it to Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and the communities around Round Lake. A post office has operated here since 1867, and the old railroad right-of-way still shows how the village was laid out. Our Lady of the Holyland Catholic parish and the village fire and rescue service remain visible parts of local life.

St. Cloud was settled by German Catholic families in the 1840s and surveyed for streets, lots, and a Sheboygan–Fond du Lac railroad right-of-way in 1869. Trains carried passengers, mail, livestock, produce, and supplies from 1870 until the line closed in 1952. The village was named for Saint-Cloud, France, and incorporated in 1909 after a close vote. St. Cloud is a small Wisconsin village with a river, a railroad-era grid, and the church-and-farm traditions that give the Holyland its name.
