St. Michaels, AZ

St. Michaels is a chapter of the Navajo Nation and census-designated place in Apache County, on the eastern edge of the Defiance Plateau and along Black Creek. The Navajo Nation Government Campus is within the chapter at Window Rock, making St. Michaels part of the map around the Navajo capital. St. Michael Mission was founded in 1898, and Saint Michael Indian School opened in 1902 with the work of Saint Katharine Drexel; the school still serves students from preschool through twelfth grade. St. Michaels is a Navajo Nation place with a mission, a school, and a chapter house.
