St. Stephens is an unincorporated census-designated place in Washington County, Alabama, situated near the Tombigbee River in the southwestern part of the state. Composed of two distinct sites known as Old and New St. Stephens, the community of approximately four hundred residents has a rich history listing several sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Old St. Stephens was historically situated at the end of navigation on the river and is now preserved within the Old St. Stephens Historical Park.
