Startex, SC

Set along the Middle Tyger River in Spartanburg County, Startex is a quiet community with deep roots in the Upstate textile era. It started in the late 1800s as a bustling mill town called Tucapau, where daily life centered around the local mill, company store, churches, and neighborhood baseball leagues.
