About Stephenville

Stephenville is an Erath County city on the North Bosque River, widely known as the home of Tarleton State University. In the 1890s, many buildings around the town square were built, Tarleton opened, and local newspapers helped shape civic life. The city is served by Stephenville Independent School District and also has Ranger College presence. Stephenville feels like a college and county-seat town with ranch-country roots, a strong square, and a regional role west of Fort Worth.
