Stevensville, MT

Set in the Bitterroot Valley roughly thirty miles south of Missoula, Stevensville is a friendly small town framed by mountain views on both sides. As Montana’s oldest permanent pioneer settlement, the area has deep roots dating back to the Bitterroot Salish and the founding of St. Mary's Mission in 1841. Today, with around 2,000 residents, it offers a relaxed rural pace while keeping Missoula’s job market, hospital, and airport within an easy 40-minute drive.

Around town, life revolves around a classic, walkable Main Street filled with local cafes, family-owned restaurants, and everyday services. Stevensville’s public schools share a single convenient campus from kindergarten through 12th grade, alongside an active community library and local medical offices. For outdoor recreation, residents enjoy blue-ribbon fly fishing on the Bitterroot River, hiking in the Bitterroot Mountains, and wildlife viewing at the nearby Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge.
