Stewartsville, NJ

Stewartsville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place inside Greenwich Township, Warren County, with 636 residents in the 2020 census. The census label is recent, but the name reaches back to Thomas Stewart, who purchased property here in 1793 after serving as a secretary to George Washington. Greenwich Township's history runs through Lenni-Lenape land, early mills, Continental Army supply routes, and the old New Brunswick Pike, so Stewartsville sits in a landscape where a small village name carries several centuries of movement.
