Stickney, IL

Stickney is a small, down-to-earth village located about ten miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Home to around 7,000 residents, it offers a quiet neighborhood setting right next to the city border. Most of the residential streets are lined with classic brick bungalows and well-kept yards, making the community an affordable and practical choice for commuters who need quick access to Interstate 55.

Outdoor recreation is close at hand, with Cook County forest preserves along the western border giving locals easy access to wooded walking and biking trails. Younger children attend neighborhood elementary schools like Home and Edison, while older students head to districts in nearby Berwyn and Lyons. Even with industrial corridors along the canal to the east and south, the residential heart of the village remains peaceful, with plenty of shopping, dining, and transit options just minutes away in the surrounding suburbs.
