Stone Park, IL

Stone Park is a tiny, close-knit village located about 15 miles west of downtown Chicago. Covering barely a third of a square mile, it is one of the smallest municipalities in Cook County, with a population of around 4,500 people. Originally subdivided from farmland in the late 1930s, the community features modest single-family homes and a quiet residential feel surrounded by busier western suburbs.

Getting around is simple thanks to nearby corridors like North Avenue and Mannheim Road, putting O'Hare Airport and downtown Chicago within easy reach. Families are served by Bellwood School District 88 for elementary grades and Proviso Township High Schools District 209, where students can also apply to the selective Proviso Math and Science Academy. Because the village is so compact, residents head right across the border into Melrose Park and Northlake for grocery shopping, neighborhood dining, and daily errands.
