About Sugar Grove

Sugar Grove is a borough in Sugar Grove Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania, United States. The 2020 census counted 564 residents. On 17–18 June 1854, an anti-slavery convention of abolitionists was held in Sugar Grove at the farm of James Younie on the western end of the village. Frederick Douglass, Lewis Clarke, and Jermain Loguen gave speeches during the weekend event. The short version is that Sugar Grove carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Sugar Grove: its past remains attached to the places people use now.
