Sugar Grove, PA

Set among the rolling hills of northwestern Pennsylvania right along the New York border, Sugar Grove is a quiet community of around 550 residents. Named for the rich maple groves that filled the valley when settlers arrived in 1802, the town holds a proud place in American history. It served as a vital stop on the Underground Railroad and hosted prominent abolitionists, including Frederick Douglass, who spoke to a large crowd at a local farm during an 1854 anti-slavery convention.

Today, the area offers a relaxed, rural lifestyle surrounded by open farmland and wooded hills. On summer weekends, locals and visitors gather at Stateline Speedway, a beloved dirt racetrack that sits right on the state line. Students attend the Warren County School District, and the borough's location makes it an easy trip north to Jamestown, New York, or south to the town of Warren for groceries, dining, and work.
