About Summit

Summit is a village in Cook County, Illinois, historically named for the highest point along the Chicago Portage between the Chicago and Des Plaines rivers. Annexed by Summit in 1911, the subdivision of Argo is home to one of the world's largest corn milling facilities, operated by Ingredion at 65th Street and Archer Avenue. A suburb of Chicago, the community of approximately 10,800 is served by Summit School District 104.
