Sunset, UT

Sunset is a small, quiet community in northern Davis County, settled comfortably between the Wasatch Mountains and the Great Salt Lake. Home to around 5,500 residents, it offers a relaxed neighborhood feel with easy access to the broader Ogden area. Hill Air Force Base borders the city to the east, making the neighborhood a natural fit for military personnel and defense contractors looking for a short daily commute. With I-15 and major local routes right next door, getting to work or heading out for weekend recreation takes very little effort.

The city earned its name around 1916, inspired by the colorful evening skies stretching over the lake to the west. Sunset grew rapidly during the 1940s to house workers supporting the nearby airfield, evolving from open grazing land into a friendly, established suburb. Today, it remains an affordable and convenient home base. Residents enjoy quiet streets, local parks, and a low-maintenance lifestyle, while neighboring towns like Roy and Clearfield provide plenty of nearby dining and shopping options.
