Sussex, NJ

Sussex Borough is a small, tight-knit community of around 2,000 people tucked into the rolling hills of northwestern New Jersey. Enclosed entirely by rural Wantage Township, the historic town center spans just over half a square mile. Life here has a distinct small-town feel along Main Street, where local diners, shops, and community services are all within walking distance. Families send younger kids to the local Sussex-Wantage schools, while older students attend High Point Regional High School just up the road.

While the borough has its own compact neighborhood layout, it also serves as a gateway to some of the state's prettiest countryside. High Point State Park, the Appalachian Trail, and several quiet lakes are only minutes away for weekend hiking and fishing. Route 284 and Route 23 make it easy to commute to neighboring towns or run errands, giving residents a relaxed, rural setting with simple access to everyday essentials.
