Swan Quarter, NC

Swan Quarter is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Hyde County, North Carolina, United States. The 2020 census counted 275 residents. Swan Quarter is the county seat of Hyde County. In the 18th century, Samuel Swann settled along Pamlico Sound near the head of Swan Bay. The local school is Mattamuskeet School of Hyde County Schools. In the de jure segregation era, the grade school for black students was, by the 1960s, O.
