Sweetwater, OK

Sweetwater is a town in Beckham and Roger Mills Counties in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Sweetwater was incorporated in 1998. Named for nearby Sweetwater Creek, the town is at the junction of State Highway 30 and State Highway 152. For 2007, it tied with Boley for the smallest high school with 15 students. That mix gives Sweetwater a clear local shape within Oklahoma, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. Oklahoma State Highway 6 and 152 run concurrently east-west through the town. Oklahoma State Highway 30 runs north-south through town.
