Located right next to Pinehurst in Moore County, Taylortown is a small, quiet community with deep local roots. The town was founded in 1905 when Demus Taylor, a formerly enslaved man, bought land to create a home for Black workers helping build the nearby resort. Originally known as Old Settlement, it later took Taylor's name and grew into a close-knit community with a proud history tied to the area's golf and resort beginnings.

Highway 211 runs along the town, putting Pinehurst's golf courses, shops, and dining just minutes away, along with an easy commute to Southern Pines and Aberdeen.
