Thatcher is an unincorporated census-designated place in Box Elder County, Utah, situated seven miles west of Tremonton in the Bear River Valley. Settled in 1890 and named in honor of Latter-day Saint apostle Moses Thatcher, the agricultural farming community of approximately 1,170 is served by the Box Elder School District for public education locally.
