About Thomasville
Thomasville is a historic commercial city located in northern Clarke County, Alabama, positioned on an elevated ridge between the Tombigbee and Alabama rivers. Founded in 1888 when merchants relocated from Choctaw Corner to meet the new railroad, the town has developed into a regional economic hub. Thomasville is the childhood home of author Kathryn Tucker Windham, whose namesake museum is located on the local campus of Coastal Alabama Community College. The community publishes the Thomasville Times and operates its own city school district.
