Thornville, OH

Thornville is a Perry County village about 20 miles north of New Lexington. It was laid out around 1811 under the name Lebanon, then took the Thornville name used by its post office, which has operated since 1820. The 2020 census counted 1,087 residents. State Route 13 links the village south toward Somerset, while the county-seat relationship to New Lexington places Thornville within a wider central-Ohio rural network. The village's present civic geography is organized through Northern Local School District. Thornville Elementary occupies a building on East Columbus Street, while Sheridan Middle School and Sheridan High School are about six miles southeast along State Route 13, halfway toward Somerset.

The district maintains separate event calendars for Thornville and its other school communities, so school life stretches across several nearby settlements.
