About Timberlane
Timberlane is a small Boone County village in the Rockford metropolitan area, about 20 miles east of Rockford and 75 miles west of Chicago. It was established in 1995 and had 906 residents in the 2020 census. Cornfields and open sky surround the village, while Interstate 90 and the nearby airports put a much larger regional map within reach. The village is compact, with the surrounding farmland part of the everyday view. Because Timberlane is so new and small, its civic texture is mostly visible in practical details.
Village meetings, zoning work, snow-removal policies, building permits, utility contacts, waste and recycling, and a public financial report sit close to the surface of local life. The school map is split between Belvidere Consolidated Unit School District 100 and North Boone Community Unit School District 200, reflecting the village's position between rural Boone County and Rockford-area connections. Timberlane is defined less by a downtown than by open land, a short municipal history, and the everyday work of keeping a small village running.
