Titusville, PA

Titusville is a Crawford County city of 5,262 residents in the 2020 census and part of the Meadville micropolitan area. Its name is tied to the first commercial oil boom: Edwin Drake's 1859 well on Oil Creek, south of town, helped turn this stretch of northwestern Pennsylvania into the birthplace of the American oil industry. Lumber, plastics, and toolmaking later joined oil in the local industrial story. The city's streets still face the same creek valley that first made the oil boom possible and gave Titusville its place in national history.
