About Treasure Island
Treasure Island is a Pinellas County beach city on a Gulf of Mexico barrier island, west of St. Petersburg. Long before modern resorts and condominiums, the area was settled in small communities by the Tocobaga around 300 CE. Today Treasure Island is defined by broad beaches, warm Gulf weather, hotels, waterfront homes, and boating canals. It is tourist-friendly but also residential, with causeway access back to the mainland. The city feels classic Tampa Bay beach town: sunny, low-rise, and built around sand and water.
