Triadelphia, WV

Triadelphia is an Ohio County town that began with a charter dated July 29, 1829. Its name comes from Greek words for three brothers, likely a nod to the three sons of the original town-site owner. Little Wheeling Creek and Middle Wheeling Creek meet the town's story, while U.S. 40 follows the old National Road through the area. Interstate 70 and the nearby I-470 route make the modern map easy to recognize, but the National Road still gives Triadelphia its older line.

Town Hall and the volunteer fire department sit along National Road, and the town's own hall-and-park complex gives local gatherings a physical place: a shelter with picnic tables, basketball court, playground, swings, kitchen, and restroom. Farther along the commercial edge, The Highlands brings a large retail district into the same town map. Near Triadelphia, the David Stewart Farm, also called Rock Valley Farm, preserves an 1812 sandstone house and farm buildings. Triadelphia reads as a Wheeling-area town where an old road, two creeks, a town park, and a historic farm all sit beside newer regional activity.
