About Trucksville
Trucksville is a census-designated place in Kingston Township, Luzerne County, along Pennsylvania Route 309 between Shavertown and Kingston. The 2010 census counted 2,152 residents. Route 309 does most of the practical work, carrying local traffic south toward Kingston and the Wyoming Valley and north into the Back Mountain. The community is part of the Dallas School District, so school buses and township roads are a big part of the daily map. Trucksville has the feel of an old road community folded into a suburban corridor: homes, small businesses, and volunteer services line the highway, while the hills and streams of northeastern Pennsylvania sit just beyond it.
Volunteer fire and rescue crews add another local thread along the corridor. Shavertown is directly north, Kingston is about three miles south, and Wilkes-Barre is close by for bigger errands. Trucksville is a Luzerne County place where the local map is written in Route 309, school buses, and the short drive between Back Mountain and the Wyoming Valley.
