Union Beach, NJ

Union Beach is a quiet, close-knit borough tucked along the shores of Raritan Bay in northern Monmouth County. Residential streets run from Route 36 straight up to the waterfront, where you will find calm beaches, restored dunes, and wide-open views across the water toward the New York skyline. The paved Henry Hudson Trail cuts right through town, offering an easy, car-free path for biking or walking over to neighboring Bayshore towns. It has the feel of an unpretentious beach community where life moves at a relaxed pace.

Since the town is almost entirely residential, most shopping and dining happen just across the border. Route 36 borders the south end of town, putting big-box stores, supermarkets, and everyday conveniences in Hazlet only a few minutes away. Nearby Keyport offers a lively downtown with waterfront restaurants and local pubs, while the Hazlet train station provides a direct rail commute into New York City. At home in Union Beach, downtime usually revolves around walking dogs along the bayfront promenade, fishing off the coast, or hopping on the trail.
