Union Grove is a quiet East Texas community tucked into the piney woods of Upshur County, sitting just a short drive north of Gladewater. The area got its start as a nineteenth-century sawmill settlement and later saw a rush of new growth during the 1930s oil boom. Today, that rapid expansion has settled into a peaceful rural setting filled with open land, quiet country roads, and a strong sense of neighborly connection.

Much of the community's energy centers on the Union Grove Independent School District, a close-knit campus where local families gather for Friday night football, band concerts, and school events throughout the year.
