Vandemere is a town in Pamlico County, North Carolina, United States. The 2020 census counted 246 residents. Vandemere is part of the New Bern, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area. Vandemere was incorporated in 1874 and was the county seat from 1872 to 1876. On August 27, 2011, there was a devastating flood caused by Hurricane Irene, demolishing just over 100 homes. Local contractors aided the attempt to repair, and in some cases, even build new houses.
