Viola is a town in Kent County, Delaware, United States. The 2020 census counted 140 residents. Viola is part of the Dover metropolitan area. Viola was built in 1856 after the Delaware Railroad opened a station. The zoned high school is Lake Forest High School. That mix gives Viola a clear local shape within Delaware, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. The town was laid out on a grant called Golden Thicket, owned by William Shores in 1681.
