About Vivian
Vivian is a Lyman County census-designated place with 98 residents and 50 housing units in the 2020 Census. The Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad reached the site in 1906, when the Vivian Post Office was established on May 22 and the first lot sale followed on July 11. The town took its name from the wife of a Milwaukee Railroad official. The railroad made its first run west to Rapid City in July 1907. The Census boundary covers 4,477,810 square meters of land at 43.9273°N, 100.3011°W.
