About Waldo

Waldo is a quiet village of just over 300 people in southern Marion County, founded in the 1830s and named after the founder's son. Sitting right along Route 23, it gives residents wide-open farmland and a peaceful small-town pace while staying within an easy drive of Delaware, Marion, and the outer Columbus suburbs. It is the kind of close-knit community where streets are calm, yards are spacious, and neighbors tend to know one another.

Marion southwest of Main, Waldo

The village is famous across Ohio for the G&R Tavern, a beloved local spot since 1962 that draws visitors from all over for its thick-cut fried bologna sandwiches. Local kids attend the River Valley Local School District, which serves Waldo along with several neighboring rural townships. Daily errands, healthcare, and bigger shopping trips usually mean a quick trip up to Marion or down toward Delaware, making Waldo a relaxed, friendly home base to return to each evening.
