Wallins Creek, KY

Set along the Cumberland River in Harlan County, Wallins Creek is a quiet community of just over two hundred residents. U.S. Route 119 runs right along the edge of town, making it an easy drive to either Harlan or Pineville for work, groceries, and dining. Wallins Creek got its start long before the 1920s coal boom, and that long history is still felt in its historic church and Wallins Elementary, which has served local families since the 1940s. It offers a relaxed, rural pace of life framed by steep mountain hollows and the river.
