Warfield, KY

Warfield is a tiny river town in Martin County, sitting right on the Kentucky-West Virginia border along the Tug Fork. Kermit, West Virginia, is just across the bridge, making it easy for residents to hop back and forth between the two states for daily errands. Like much of the region, Warfield grew around the early salt and coal mining industries, and that long Appalachian heritage still gives the town its distinct character.

Today, the pace of life here is very quiet and low-key. Families rely on the Martin County School District, while Warfield Park and its community center serve as the local hub for outdoor recreation and neighborhood events. An old railroad bridge still spans the river overhead, a quiet landmark connecting the town's industrial past to its present life as a peaceful Appalachian community.
