Washtucna, WA

Washtucna is a quiet, tight-knit farming community of around 300 residents tucked away in Adams County, Washington. It sits at the head of Washtucna Coulee, right where dramatic scabland terrain meets rolling eastern Washington wheat fields. The town traces its history back to the late 1870s, when settlers George and Alice Bassett established a horse ranch that hosted lively annual roundups. Named after a Palouse chief, Washtucna officially incorporated in 1903 as an agricultural hub along the railroad. Today, that farming heritage remains front and center.
