Waterford, OH

Waterford is a Washington County census-designated place in central Waterford Township, set along the Muskingum River across from the village of Beverly. State Route 339 crosses the river corridor, and Wolf Creek meets the Muskingum just below the community. The settlement began as Millburg, established by the Ohio Company in 1789, and later took the name Waterford. A post office has operated here since 1811. The river, the state route, and the neighboring village of Beverly give Waterford a distinctly cross-river geography.
