Watseka is a city and the county seat of Iroquois County, Illinois, situated along the Iroquois River and Sugar Creek. Incorporated in 1865 and named after Potawatomi figure Watch-e-kee, the agricultural trading center of approximately 4,780 features the historic 1866 courthouse and is served by Iroquois County Community Unit School District 9 locally.
