Waynesboro, MS

Waynesboro is the Wayne County seat in southeast Mississippi, just east of the Chickasawhay River. The 2020 census counted 4,567 residents. The city's modern shape came with the railroad: the Mobile and Ohio line reached Wayne County in 1854, and a station near the older settlement of Winchester became the seed for Waynesboro. That history still shows up in the city's role.
