Wayzata, MN

Wayzata is a small, affluent city on the northern shore of Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis. It is often described as a gateway to the lake, and the setting does a lot of the work: marinas, shoreline views, restaurants, and upscale shopping all gather close to downtown. The Dakota history of Lake Minnetonka as the "Big Water" gives the area older meaning beneath its polished suburban surface. Wayzata feels compact, lakeside, and closely tied to Twin Cities money and recreation.
