About Webberville
Webberville is an Ingham County village that has changed names and even shifted its center. Ephraim Meech settled the area in 1837, when the place was known as Phelpstown; it later became Leroy, then Webberville in 1867 after another Michigan town already carried the Leroy name. The Grand River plank road and a railroad station helped pull the village toward its current downtown, and Webberville incorporated in 1883. Today it sits northeast of the M-43, M-52, and I-96 junction, southeast of Lansing.
