About Wellington

Wellington is a northern Colorado town in Larimer County, north of Fort Collins. It was founded in 1902, incorporated in 1905, and named for C. L. Wellington, tying it to the railroad and agricultural development of the Front Range plains. The town is served by Poudre School District, with Rice Elementary, Eyestone Elementary, and Wellington Middle-High School in the community. Wellington has grown into a commuter-friendly small town with schools, subdivisions, and quick access to Colorado State University's Fort Collins orbit.
