About Wellsville

Wellsville is a Columbiana County village on the northern bank of the Ohio River. Its early story runs through river commerce, steamboats, ceramics, and the railroad lines that brought goods into and out of town. The village was established in 1848, and its floodwalls now carry murals that tell pieces of that industrial past. The Wellsville Intermodal Park keeps the river-to-rail connection in the present tense, while the Carnegie library gives the street grid a civic landmark. Wellsville is an Ohio River place shaped by freight, clay, and the water at its southern edge.
