Wesleyville, PA

Wesleyville is an Erie County borough pressed between the city of Erie, Harborcreek Township, and Lawrence Park Township. The 2020 census counted 3,229 residents. John Shadduck laid out the village in 1838, and the name honors John Wesley, founder of Methodism. Fourmile Creek marks the eastern edge and once powered grist and lumber mills, while Buffalo Road became the main street through the borough. Wesleyville incorporated in 1912 after a century of religious meetings and village growth.

The old village has changed from dirt streets, a trolley line, kitchen gardens, and small mills into an urban borough beside Erie. Buffalo Road and Station Road carry local businesses, and Memorial Park has three baseball fields and a playground. Emory “Red” Hinkler Park follows Fourmile Creek with a playground and pavilions, while Cumberland Field occupies the creek's east bank. Borough Square, the old Methodist church site, and the creek corridor keep Wesleyville's early street pattern visible inside a place now tied closely to the Erie metro.
