About West Concord

West Concord is a small Dodge County city on Minnesota 56, with County Road 24 cutting across its north end and farm fields running out in every direction. It was platted in 1885 and named for Concord, New Hampshire, a nod to the New England, New York, and Pennsylvania settlers who shaped the early community. The name feels eastern, but the town's working landscape is straight southern Minnesota: grain roads, broad fields, and a highway carrying local errands between Dodge Center and Rochester.

West Concord's school story is now shared. In 1992, the Claremont, Dodge Center, and West Concord districts joined as Triton Public Schools, with elementary, middle, high school, and community education spread across the three-town network. The old West Concord school building found another life through the West Concord Historical Society, while Triton students still show up at Dodge County Fair FFA events and local farm programs. West Concord's local scoop is a three-town school system with a one-town name, still easy to find by the highway and the farm roads.
