About West Crossett
West Crossett is a census-designated place on the western side of Ashley County, closely tied to the larger Crossett community. Its setting is the upland forest country that shaped this part of south Arkansas: the county reaches from Delta farmland toward the Ouachita River, while Crossett grew around the timber industry and the Crossett Lumber Company. That history gives West Crossett a working landscape of pine woods, mill roads, and neighborhoods whose daily services are organized through the nearby city.
Most of the practical connections run through the Crossett School District, which serves West Crossett as well as Crossett and much of North Crossett. Students use Crossett High School, while families draw on nearby medical, banking, shopping, and civic services. The Crossett Municipal Auditorium also serves the school district and local residents, keeping performances and community events in the same orbit. West Crossett is best understood as a residential community with its own census boundary but a shared school, work, and service network. The surrounding timber economy remains part of the regional backdrop.
