About West Freehold

West Freehold is an unincorporated community and census-designated place within Freehold Township in central Monmouth County. Its strongest local character comes from history: the area was settled as early as the late 1600s, and colonial-era buildings still stand in the West Freehold Village Historic District near West Main Street and Stillwells Corner Road. It also sits close to Monmouth Battlefield State Park and just southwest of Freehold Borough, giving it a quieter township setting with old New Jersey roots close by.
