Westport, WA

Westport sits on the Point Chehalis Peninsula at the entrance to Grays Harbor, where the Pacific and the harbor shape nearly every local route. The 2020 census counted 2,213 residents. Westport Marina is the largest marina on the outer coast of the Pacific Northwest and home to Washington's largest commercial fishing fleet, charter boats, fish processors, and cold-storage businesses. The city was incorporated in 1914, but its working story reaches back to Chehalis people, Coast Guard stations, and the fishing economy that grew around the harbor. Westport is organized around the marina district, the beach, and its maritime institutions.

Westport Light State Park puts the ocean edge and lighthouse history on the south side, while the Westport Maritime Museum occupies the former Coast Guard station. The Washington Tuna Classic arrives each August, and commercial crab, salmon, and tuna seasons keep the docks connected to a wider working waterfront. Cranberry farming adds another local industry beyond the water. Westport is a small coastal city where seafood processing, Coast Guard work, beach access, and charter fishing share the same peninsula.
