White Mills is a Wayne County village and census-designated place in Texas Township, set along U.S. 6 near the Lackawaxen River. Sawmills shaped the settlement early: Jonathan Brink bought the Haines property in 1803 and built one of the area’s first mills, and another mill appeared on the Lackawaxen around 1823.
